Wintering, by Katherine May

Wintering, The Power of Rest and Retreat in Difficult Times
by Katherine May

“They say that we should dance like no one is watching. I think that applies to reading, too.” is my favorite among many delicious moments spent reading this book.

Here’s a brief interview with Katherine May - kind of a preview of the book). She reads a little from it to give you a sense of the vibe, beautiful, slow and resonant.

If you tend to try too hard to get through things, when things get heavy and hard…Wintering will give you an idea of how to understand what’s happening, the change you’re passing through, because you are…even if it’s taking a while.

I just saw that she has a new book, Enchantment: Awakening Wonder in an Anxious Age. I’ll definitely be reading it.

and it sounds like it may connect nicely with the Creative Mornings - Maria Popova on Sanctuary talk, where she introduces (me, anyway!) to the concept of wonder sighting! and actually, for me that’s connected to #creativerest from the Rest Every Person Needs article :sparkles:
